About Us

Hi,  I’m Heidi Sharp and I run Sharp Childminding Services and I provide professional childcare from my family home just off the Broadway, along Pall Mall, Leigh on sea.

I am open Monday – Thursday  8am- 6.30pm ( closed Fridays ) term time and school holidays

I am married, have two children of my own 21 & 18.

Experience. I have 10 years of professional childcare experience and over that time I have accumulated a lot of various qualifications relating to childcare and early years education ( see ‘Qualifications’), I  am a PACEY member, part of the Southend Childminding Network and am accredited so I can provide free childcare places under the government scheme. I except a variety of childcare vouchers care4, edenred & Intergrafin (Transact) to name a few.

I am accredited and am able to obtain government funding for early years education sessions for 2, 3 and 4 year old.  All 3 and 4 year olds are entitled to 15 hours free early years education these are offered term time only.  Funding is also available for 2 year olds under certain criteria please ask for more information if you think you may be eligible.

How it began    I started childminding when our youngest started school as I wanted a career in childcare, but also wanted to be at home for my own children as they were growing up. So a friend suggested childminding and that’s  when the ball started rolling and I haven’t looked back since.
School Runs    I cover Leigh North Street Primary school and I drop off and collect from  local pre-schools.

Pre-Schoolers  With the younger children in my care I attend toddler groups, library visits &  community activities as I  believe children learn best through meaningful play. All the pre-schoolers  have ‘Learning journals’ which I use to keep a diary of the milestones they reach, I observe the children taking note of how they learn and plan for their individual next steps to help with their  development in line with the EYFS, each child has a termly report written up and one copy is emailed to parents and another is kept in their journal.
