Admissions Policy

As an Ofsted registered Childminder I am restricted to the number and ages of children that I can care for at any one time. As part of my Ofsted registration I am able to care for 6 children under the age of eight years old, 3 of which can be under five years old and 1 of these can be under one year old.

I am happy to take on any baby/child within my registered numbers and will not discriminate against children or their families for reasons such as race, religion, sex or ability. However I would like to make the following statements:

I drop off and collect from Leigh North Street Primary and local pre-schools, I would consider school runs to other schools in the area depending on their individual starting and finishing times.

I am happy to take on children with special needs providing I feel I can provide them with the care they need. If your child has additional needs please discuss them with me first as I would not want to raise your expectations.

All children will be welcomed into my home and I will encourage the other children in my care to support me with this. I will request a four-week settling in period on our contract, so if you, your child or I am not happy with the arrangement it can be terminated easily. When taking on additional children I must take into consideration the children already in my care who are happy and settled. It would be very unfair on them to introduce a child who was disruptive.

My opening hours are as follows; Mon – Thur 8am – 6 pm, term time and school holidays.

I offer free 15 hours universal funded sessions  a week for  3-4 year olds, available from the term after their third birthday ,these sessions are  Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursdays  9am- 2pm ( these sessions could be made flexible to meet your childcare needs, limitations apply such as, a maximum of 10 hours funded a day, minimum session of one hour per day and the hours can only be offered between 6am – 8pm, please ask for more details), term time only.  These sessions are offered to children who attend for a minimum of 6 hours a day.

If for any reason I have to close the setting, due to ill health for example, the funded hours that are lost due to the setting being closed will be offered at a mutual later date. Please be aware though that if you decide to take your child out during the funded hours I am not required to offer these hours at a later date. I am also required to monitor your child’s attendance and inform the Local Authority if the attendance falls below 90%, please inform me of any reason your child is unable to attend.

To access funding from the local authority I will be required to see your child’s birth certificate and ask you to fully complete a Parent Declaration Form, a section will need to be signed for each term before that term starts.

The government funding is not intended to cover the cost of meals, other consumables, additional hours or additional services,  because of this  a weekly consumables fee of £19 will be added to your invoice during the funded weeks ie, term time, to cover 3 home cooked meals, snacks, drinks, crafts resources for painting, colouring, playdoh, tough tray activities, cooking,  playgroups fees, subscriptions to websites such as twinkl, insurance, training and toys etc.

All charges will be made clear on your invoice, if you experience difficulties meeting the cost of these additional costs please come and speak to me.
