Sharp Childminding services
Summer July 2013 Newsletter
Welcome to our summer newsletter, we are so glad summer has finally arrived after such a long winter. We have made the most of the garden and have been growing a variety of fruit and vegetables on the veggie patch, the children helped to plant out peas, runner beans, broccoli, lettuce, tomatoes and we have quite an established strawberry patch as well.
Due to COSHH regulations the vegetable patch is totally organic so the children have been very ‘hands on’ with the weeding and examining of the plants as they grow. Our 24 pea plants have now been reduced to just 3 due to slugs and snails but we have enjoyed eating peas as they became ready, raw and straight off the plant.
During the day with the younger children we have been busy with playgroups, swimming, beach trips and meeting up with other minders and their children; we had a trip to Southend cemetery to witness the caterpillar phenomenon where millions of them covered trees, headstones and bushes in a fine silk.
The children enjoyed their visit and the gardens are well maintained and we saw quite a few rabbits hopping about as well.
Finally, it’s that time of year again where we like to review and reflect on how we do things and what we can do to improve our service to you, we have some feedback forms to hand out and would really appreciate your thoughts and comments.
