As a childminder I am the SENCO ( special educational needs officer) for my setting.
Local Offer; From 1st Sept 2014 the new SEND code of practice came into effect, this highlights that all children and young people are entitled to an education that enables them to make progress. If special educational needs or disabilities are identified the local authority have an obligation to support practitioners to help the child progress in their development, this could be by way of financial support or specific training.
If I felt a child needed additional support I would contact PACEY Network Co-ordinator or the Area SEN Advisers for advice.
